I write comic books! Growing up, I always wanted to write comics, but I ended up trying my hand at fiction first. I got my MFA from Columbia University, published a book of short stories with The Dial Press in 2006 called Voodoo Heart, then finally broke into comics in 2009 and haven't looked back since. I've worked extensively for DC Comics, writing such titles as Batman, Detective Comics, Justice League, the comic event books DC Dark Knights Metal and Death Metal, and Swamp Thing, among others. I've also created a number of series with some great co-creators and partners -- books like We Have Demons, Clear, Night of the Ghoul, Nocterra, American Vampire, Wytches, the Wake, AD: After Death, and more... I live in NY with my wife, Jeanie and our three boys. I am also a big fan of Elvis Presley.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2023This book is very good, very amusing. I love the fact that it's creator owned, so Snyder can really cut loose.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2022I am really enjoying this book so far. Artwork is great especially the horn demons. The story is a fresh take on good and evil. The action and suspense so far has made this a real page turner.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2021I love the way the story takes us through Lam's becoming a teammate, and the team introduction. But, as always..the black guy dies first.laughing!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2024I can't get enough of this series. I have read 2 books from it just today. The art is morbidly wonderful. I will be reading the 3rd book today.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2022Good foreshadowing, but the payoff was too soon. Nice backstory added to the tale all over.
I’ll stick with the story as long as it is this good.
Way too much reliance on cursing, tho. Overdone.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2021I’ll be giving my full thoughts in my review that I do for my YouTube channel: That Blonde Comic Guy but wow. The pacing of this issue is fantastic. Even though it’s only 37 pages it doesn’t waste a single one. The story gets fleshed out more, and most of this issue is from Gus’s perspective who after his intro in Issue 1 I knew I was going to love and I’m so happy this issue filled us in on him. A strong start in issue 1 that only gets stronger in this issue.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2022I'm starting to really like this story. When every Scott synder writes something I'm always onboard, and this story is showing why I'm such a fan.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2021This is some Prime reading material, and I'm going against my beliefs and reading it per-issue. Normally if I can't find a series I want to read in a collection, I wait. This is good enough that I'll forgo that habit. The book is awesome, but does every comic have to have silly uniforms? The only comic I've ever read that didn't have a stupid outfit was Lobo, and Lobo's the shiznit!

Snyder’s ComiXology projects are the best stories out there as of now! Can’t miss them. Full of turns and surprises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
The writing and the art are great. Can't wait to read issue 3 to see where the story takes us.

3.0 out of 5 stars More world building
The second issue is told from a different point of view and is harder to relate to. It also seats more into superhero territory. There is a nice tribute to a classic scene from "the thing" and a nice surprise at the end.

3.0 out of 5 stars A great second volume
This is a fun story with killer artwork from Greg Capullo. I'm hooked on this one now and looking forward to what comes next.
