Nearly 75 doctors in South Florida took part in a symbolic walkout Monday to protest the overwhelming number of unvaccinated coronavirus patients receiving care at their hospital in Palm Beach Gardens.

The doctors stood outside the hospital with the hope of using their platform to convince people who haven’t yet received their COVID-19 vaccine to do so, WFLA reported.

“We are exhausted. Our patience and resources are running low and we need your help,” said Dr. Rupesh Dharia from Palm Beach Internal Medicine.

“The vaccine still remains the most effective and reliable way to stop this madness,” said Dr. Leslie Diaz, an infectious disease specialist.

The walkout comes as the Food and Drug Administration gave full authorization to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, a measure that many health experts hope encourages more hesitant people to get their shot.
