Karen Lawson is Peleton’s new country manager for Australia.  

Cult cycling phenomenon Peloton has hired a former Spotify boss to help lead its push into Australia.

Karen Lawson, 48, has been appointed Peloton’s country manager for Australia. She was previously managing director of Spotify in Australia and chief executive of corporate accelerator Slingshot. The US fitness start-up announced last month that it would be launching in Australia in the second half of this year.

Tomas Varsavsky has joined Catch. 

Online retailer Catch.com.au has hired Tomas Varsavsky as its chief product and technology officer. The 44-year-old, who was named one of the top 50s CIOs in Australia in 2018 and 2019, was previously the chief technology and data officer at REA Group and a principal consultant with ThoughtWorks.

ASX-listed Janus Henderson has made a trio of promotions within its Australian institutional team. Tom Kelly, 38, has been promoted to head of institutional distribution for Australia. He joined the firm in 2016 as an institutional sales director.

Fawzul Ahmed, 34, has been promoted to senior client account manager, while Jaxon Rudduck, 39, has promoted to head of consultant relations.
