What to expect on your next visit

Ticket Information

General Admission hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

General admission ticket costs are $24 for adults, $19 for children and seniors, free for members. Tickets include access to galleries, planetarium shows, science shows and demonstrations.

We ask students to show their school identification at our front desk upon entry, no online reservations required.

Tickets are available at the door and online. Tickets purchased online are delivered via email. If you purchased an online ticket and do not see it in your email inbox, check your spam and other folders.

Latest Updates

  • In accordance with the latest CDC recommendations and local guidelines, masks are now optional for all Chabot Space & Science Center visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks for personal health and comfort. We will continue to take precautions, including enhanced cleaning procedures, providing hand sanitizer and improved filtration throughout the Center.
  • Additionally, proof of vaccination is not required to enter the Center or upcoming public programs, following the latest change in policy from Oakland City Council.

Masks are optional for all Chabot Space & Science Center visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks for personal health and comfort.

Wash Your Hands
After hands-on exhibits or eating, wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is readily available near all galleries, theaters, labs and classrooms.

Make Space For Others
Provide six feet of space between fellow visitors and follow directional signage.

Stay Home If Sick
If you are sick within two weeks of your visit, contact the Box Office to reschedule your visit. Contact the Box Office at visitorinfo@chabotspace.org to reschedule.

NASA Ames Visitor Center

NASA Ames Visitor Center opens as a hands-on exhibition that brings to life the thrilling, challenging and inspiring process of scientific discovery by showcasing the real stories and people at NASA’s Ames Research Center.

Renovations Throughout The Center

Transformative renovations to the Center include significant updates to the facility’s layout, furniture, courtyard, signage and paint to create a more comfortable and welcoming visitor experience.

Chabot’s transformation has been generously funded in part by The Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation.

New Activities, Demonstrations and Videos by Teen Galaxy Explorers

Teen-led science demonstrations, activities and video interviews by Chabot’s Galaxy Explorers throughout the Center engage visitors in NASA research, as well as current topics and careers in space exploration.

New Murals

Spectacular new murals from local artists Cece Carpio and Lindsey Millikan can be found in Chabot’s Spees Building.
