The Post reports: “House Democrats said Monday that the House will vote Thursday to formalize procedures for the next phase of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Democrats said the move would ‘ensure transparency and provide a clear path forward’ as the inquiry continues.”

Contrary to the claims of Republicans partisans and some sloppy reporting, this does not authorize the inquiry. The impeachment proceedings are already underway. The main purpose is to set forth how the inquiry will proceed and undercut Republican complaints of lack of transparency.
