I am calling to ask that you vote NO on the proposed budget, which uses accounting tricks, and shuffling cops from the NYPD to the DOE while claiming to be a $1 billion dollar cut. I do not support any budget that does NOT have at least $1B in REAL cuts to the NYPD's bloated $6B expense budget that would result in $1B+ to be reinvested in our communities from those NYPD cuts.

Just this weekend, we have seen the NYPD pepper spraying people at Pride celebrations, and last week a mentally ill New Yorker was Taser-ed to death by the police. The NYPD doesn't need any more money right now and calling the proposed budget a $1 billion dollar cut is an insult to the intelligence of New Yorkers.

Will you vote NO on any budget that does NOT have at least $1B in REAL cuts to the NYPD, and redirects the savings to fund the many other critical priorities our city faces in this crisis? *
