Frequently Asked Questions

What is ETHUofT?

ETHUoFT is a student-focused Hackathon aimed at giving participants the necessary skills to contribute to the Ethereum ecosystem. Over the course of our 36 hour Hackathon there will be various workshops held by Ethereum experts. We want to help provide the needed resources, mentors, and software to make awesome things possible. You can check out some cool projects participants made last year on our devpost

Who can participate?

Though we place a heavy emphasis on students, anyone (anywhere) can apply to participate in our Hackathon! (Yes, that means highschool students too!) All applications are vetted based on interest in Ethereum and demonstrated ability to code or contribute in some meaningful way to a project. Non-technical participants are also welcome, as long as you have a desire to learn.

How much does it cost to attend?

If you are participating, attending our hackathon is free! We also offer workshop passes for those who don’t want to hack but still want to take part in the workshops/panels/talks.

How many people can be on a team?

You can be a solo developer or in a team of up to 4 people. If you don’t have a team coming into the event, you will have an opportunity at the beginning to find like-minded teammates.

What if I’ve never participated in a Hackathon before?

That’s perfectly fine! There’s a first time for everything. As long as you’re interested in learning and building, we’ll be providing mentors, resources and workshops to help you to make your ideas a reality.

Can I work on my project before the Hackathon?

Nope. That’s against the spirit of this Hackathon.
